Hibiscus Tea: A Floral Fizz for Your Soul's Delight!

Hibiscus tea, often referred to as the "sorrel" or "roselle," has found its vibrant place in the folklore of various cultures around the globe. Originating from ancient Egypt, it was believed that hibiscus petals were indulged by pharaohs and used as a ceremonial drink, symbolising wealth and prosperity. In many Caribbean islands, sorrel tea is steeped in tradition, typically enjoyed during festive seasons, where it is infused with spices to serve as a refreshing reminder of joyous times. Folklore suggests that hibiscus not only pleases the palate but also holds mystical powers, promoting love and passion among those who sip it. With its deep crimson hue, this herbal elixir is thought to connect the drinker to the spirit world, making it a favourite among shamans and healers. So, whether served hot or chilled, hibiscus tea carries with it a rich tapestry of history, resonance, and blessing, inviting us all to raise a cup to balance, beauty, and a hint of the extraordinary.

How to prepare

Simply add 1 to 2 teaspoons of hibiscus into a tea infuser, place it in your favourite mug, and brew with boiled water for 3 to 10 minutes, adjusting the time to achieve your perfect taste.

Ingredients: Dried Hibiscus.

Allergen advice: milk, nuts (including peanuts), seeds (including sesame seeds & mustard seeds), cereals, soya & products containing gluten are handled on site.

Caution: Not all herbal teas are suitable during pregnancy, breastfeeding, for children, during ill health or whilst taking medications. If any doubt, please consult a healthcare practitioner.
